The process
From enquiry to first cool breeze
Free pre-installation survey
A certified engineer visits your home to assess pipe routes, electrical supply and the best location for both indoor and outdoor units. The survey is free and completely without obligation.
Installation booked
We confirm a date that suits you, a two-hour arrival window and a fixed price with no last-minute surprises. Most single-room installations complete inside a day.
Installation day
Your engineers arrive in a fully-stocked Climio-marked van, protect your floors and furniture with dust sheets, and complete the install to F-Gas regulations.
Commissioning & handover
We test-run the system, calibrate the refrigerant charge, connect Wi-Fi where available and walk you through the remote and app — you'll leave the day confident and comfortable.
Aftercare
You'll receive a digital installation certificate, warranty registration confirmation and a reminder when your first annual service is due.
Detail
Everything to know about your install
Professional installation overview
Air conditioning installation isn't just a plumbing job — it's a regulated, refrigerant-handling activity that must be carried out by an F-Gas certified engineer. Every installation we book is completed by a qualified two-person crew, insured, DBS-checked and trained specifically on the range Climio sells. That means faster installs, tidier finishes and a warranty that stays fully valid on day one.
Preparing for your installation
In the days before your install we'll email a short preparation guide — clear a small working area around the indoor and outdoor locations, ensure the engineer has access to your electrical consumer unit, and secure any pets. There's no need to move heavy furniture; our team will handle anything within a reasonable working radius.
What happens on installation day
Your engineers arrive within the two-hour window, walk the site with you and confirm the agreed positions. Floors and furniture are covered with dust sheets. Copper refrigerant pipework is run through a neat trunking route (agreed with you in advance) and the outdoor condenser is mounted on wall brackets, a ground stand or a flat-roof frame as required. Most single-split installs complete in 4–6 hours; multi-split systems may take a second day.
Aftercare & first-run advice
We'll set the system to a sensible starting temperature, show you how to switch between cooling, heating, dry and fan modes, and connect any Wi-Fi features. For the first 48 hours we recommend running the system continuously at a moderate setting to allow the indoor humidity to stabilise — it makes a noticeable difference to how quickly the room reaches a comfortable temperature.
Maintenance advice
A modern inverter air conditioner needs very little from you — vacuum the front filters every 4–6 weeks in heavy use, wipe the outdoor unit clear of leaves seasonally, and book a professional service every 12–18 months to keep the refrigerant charge, drainage and coils in perfect condition. We'll email a reminder when your service is due.
Safety guidance
Never attempt to open the sealed refrigerant circuit — the gas is under pressure and handling it without certification is a criminal offence. If a fault code appears on your remote, note the code and give us a call; nine times out of ten it's diagnosed remotely, without an engineer visit.
Your responsibilities as the customer
You'll need to ensure a suitable electrical supply is available (most single-split units run from a standard 13A spur, larger systems may need a dedicated circuit), that the outdoor unit location meets planning guidance if you're in a listed or conservation area, and that any lease or freehold consent is obtained if required. Our surveyor will flag any of this well in advance so there are no surprises on the day.
